[ Breaking Sexual and Reproductive Health Barriers for Adolescents With Access Granted ]
Role
Service Designer at Scope Impact
Outcome
Launched Access Granted to empower Nebraska youth aged 15-24 with free accessible SRH services.
Funded by The Sherwood Foundation in partnership with The Woman's Fund of Omaha, Access Granted is a pioneering project that aims to break down the fortified barriers hindering young people's access to crucial sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. Utilizing Human-Centered and collaborative design principles, the project conducted extensive research, ideation, and testing to create innovative design interventions that tackle the social, economic, physical, and psychological barriers faced by youth in accessing SRH.
One of the unique approaches used in this project was leveraging Instagram as a research, ideation, and testing tool, making the design tools accessible, relatable, and engaging for all. The result is a user-centric platform that empowers adolescents aged 15-24 to access essential SRH goods and services easily. The platform incorporates a social media-based creative engagement strategy, a healthcare facility adolescent-based feedback system for quality improvement, and an App and web-based service that provides free SRH services while collecting accurate data for health centres and funders.
Access Granted is charting a path towards positive SRH outcomes for young people in Nebraska, creating a brighter future for the youth in the state by breaking down barriers through innovative UX design and service design methodologies.
