Role

Service Designer at Scope Impact / Design Clinic Mentor and Curriculum Designer for Clinton Health Access Initiative

Outcome

Fostered champions of HCD to develop 3 community-based COVID response concepts for Niger state.

Core Nigeria offers a practical, experiential learning curriculum on Human-Centered Design (HCD) for public health and government professionals. The goal is to foster mindset changes and cultivate champions of HCD in non-design sectors, promoting positive health outcomes. Participants, including the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) country offices and Lagos/Niger state officials, form state teams and engage in a year-long course comprising 4 learning units: Discover, Define, Create, and Test, where teams conducted design research, defined actionable challenges, created concepts through participatory design, and tested with communities to build implementation roadmaps for community challenges exacerbated by COVID-19.
