[ Unlocking Inclusive Learning: A Collaborative Approach ]
Role
Workshop Designer and Lead Facilitator Freelancer
Outcome
St. Ann School’s workshop helped teachers adapt lesson plans to different learning styles, resulting in inclusive, tailored lesson plans for grades K-8th grade levels that foster collaboration and improved student engagement.
St. Ann School recognized the need for inclusive lesson plans that cater to different learning styles. Collaborating with Milder Office, a workshop was created to help teachers identify the various learning and personality types within their class.
Using self-portraits and character descriptions, teachers mapped out the phases of a prominent project, noting how each type would respond at each stage. Discussions identified patterns in learning styles and prompted teachers to adapt their projects for various styles.
The workshop opened teachers' eyes to more deliberate intervention, allowing them to collaborate and adapt projects to cater to a wide range of learning styles. By the end, each grade level group had an adapted project, catering to the various learning types in their class. This approach allowed teachers to unlock inclusive learning, creating a collaborative environment for further idea development.
